Emergency Exit Procedure: All Saint’s Parish Rooms

Please find below the correct procedure for YSBD staff during an emergency evacuation at All Saints Parish Rooms, SK8 7JB.

Evacuate building via nearest fire exits safely and calmly with students and head to meeting point (see below).

Downstairs:

  1. At the back of the Main Hall through the black doors.
  2. Out via the hall door (as if heading to kitchen) fire exit door on the right leads to the car park.
  3. Front door in foyer.
  4. At the bottom of the stairs near backstage that lead you up to the drama room.

Upstairs:

  1. At the end of the corridor near the Lamda room, open the door and stairs lead down to the side of the parish rooms.
  2. Down the stairs at the other end of the corridor (that lead you to backstage area).

 

Please make sure you know where these exits are and familiarise yourself with which exits are closest to the room you teach in. All exits are clearly labelled with a fire exit sign.

Once the evacuation commences:

Hannah/Leader – Activate nearest fire alarm and call fire service.

Hannah/Leader then collect registers/emergency contacts folder from table in hall and gives registers to designated staff members.

Staff are in charge of whichever class they are teaching at the time of the announcement of the evacuation. Staff have their own registers for each class.

Lead children in your group outside via the closest available fire exit safely and calmly. Head straight to meeting point (see below).

Hannah/leader after handing registers/contact registers to staff will sweep building to check ALL rooms/toilets for any students left inside.

If Hannah is not present a member of staff will become the leader.

Little stars – Laura takes register. Assistant and Stephen keeps little stars all together.

West End Masterclass- Amy to take register. Alicia, Kathryn and Courtney assist and keep them together.

Main School – Staff take register of the class you were teaching at time of the evacuation.

Lamda – Teacher take register.

If Hannah is not there the leader will be designated by her. They will be told before the day that they will be in charge of the evacuation process so they are aware of their role if an emergency was to happen.

 

Meeting point: Congregate at All Saints Parish Church on opposite side of the road. 

If students need to be collected by parents:

Staff call parents of the group you have taken the register for. Contact registers will be handed to you by Hannah/Leader.

Emergency contacts for each group can be found with Hannah/leader in the register folder that is collected upon the beginning of the evacuation and will only be given to staff in emergencies.

Staff MUST return the emergency contacts/registers to Hannah/Leader and they MUST be placed back into the folders and stored securely and correctly under the new GDPR regulations! Staff must make sure that these papers do not go missing as they hold important data. It is your responsibility to hand them back to

Hannah/leader who will place them back into the folder safely.

Our evacuation drills will be unannounced so staff and students can practise and perfect the above procedures.

Fire Safety:

In the event of a fire it is the first duty of all concerned to prevent injury or loss of life.

If you discover a fire, or one is reported to you, you should sound the alarm. The fire alarm is situated on the ground floor outside the kitchen.

Hannah/Leader is responsible for making sure that the fire service is called immediately on the sounding of the fire alarm.

Evacuate the building following the procedure above.

Once the fire service arrive, Hannah/Leader is responsible for informing them of persons not accounted for.

Do not re enter the building until advised to do so by the person in charge.

 

Evacuation reports:

Fire evacuation reports can be found in the Main Admin Folder kept in reception. Hannah/Leader are responsible for completing one after an evacuation.

Please find below the correct procedure for YSBD staff during an emergency evacuation at Nevill Road Junior School, Nevill Road, Bramhall, Stockport, SK7 3ET.

Evacuate building via nearest fire exits safely and calmly with students and head to meeting point (see below).

MAIN HALL:

  1. Out via the front hall doors (through to foyer). Fire exit door at the Main entrance that leads to the grass at the front of the building.
  2. Out via the back doors to corridor, turn left at the end of corridor which leads to the playground. Walk through the green gate across the playground and around the side of the building to the grass at the front of the building.

 

DINING ROOM:

  1. Both doors leads straight out to the playground. Walk through the green gate across the playground and round the side of the building to the grass at the front of the building.

 

CLASSROOM AT END OF CORRIDOR:

  1. Fire exit doors as you turn left out of the classroom. Walk around the side of the building that leads to the grass at the front of the building.
  2. Fire exit door as you turn right which leads on to the playground. Walk through the green gate to the right as you exit the doors to the playground and around the side of the building to the grass at the front of the building
